Cameroon: Issa Tchiroma, a sham of power that insults the sovereign will of the Cameroonian people
In an act of unprecedented gravity, defeated presidential candidate Issa Tchiroma has dared to challenge the sovereign will of the Cameroonian people. While President Paul Biya was legitimately inaugurated after a free and transparent election, this politically desperate figure has signed a “ghost decree” appointing a fictitious spokesperson, lawyer Alice Nkom.
This gesture is no mere fantasy. It constitutes an insult to universal suffrage, a calculated provocation against republican institutions, and a shameless attempt to sow discord in a nation that has chosen stability.
The Cameroonian majority has clearly expressed its support for President Paul Biya and his vision for the country’s future.
In taking this action, the defeated Issa Tchiroma does not merely refuse his loss. He tramples democratic principles, flouts the Constitution, and attempts to create dangerous conflict in the minds of citizens.
This political masquerade reveals profound contempt for Cameroonians and their sovereign choices.
This unworthy, dangerous, and unhealthy political comedy deserves the strongest condemnation.
Cameroon has no use for such parallel power aspirations. Legitimacy is not decreed it is built through the ballot box and through service to the nation.
The time has come for Mr. Tchiroma and his supporters to accept reality. The Cameroonian people have spoken, and their decision is final.
Cameroon needs unity and work, not these ridiculous antics that only serve to divide and weaken this great nation.
