Football/ Inter Miami bolsters squad after MLS title, secures Suarez through 2026

Fresh off their MLS Cup victory, Inter Miami is strategically shaping its roster for the 2026 season, blending legacy talent with new signings. The club has officially confirmed the contract extension of legendary Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez, securing his services for the upcoming campaign.

The 38-year-old, who has contributed 42 goals and 29 assists in 87 appearances, dismissed rumors of a potential return to Club Nacional de Montevideo.

This move ensures the potent attacking partnership between Suárez and captain Lionel Messi remains intact. The offseason also sees defensive reinforcements, with Spanish full-back Sergio Reguilón joining the project.

These additions help offset the departure of veteran stars Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, who have retired.

The club’s activity signals a clear intent to build on its championship success by maintaining a core of experienced stars while injecting fresh talent, aiming for sustained dominance in Major League Soccer.
