Thierry Henry honoured with BBC lifetime achievement Award

Football icon Thierry Henry is set to receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year ceremony. The former Arsenal striker, 48, is recognised for his indelible mark on English football and his enduring influence on the sport.

As Arsenal’s all-time top scorer with 228 goals, Henry was instrumental in the club’s historic “Invincibles” season and their domestic successes.

His exceptional career, which also included a World Cup and European Championship win with France, now places him among previous award winners like Pelé and Usain Bolt.

Deeply moved by the honour, Henry stated, “Football has given me everything and I gave it my all.

To be recognised as part of its history… is something I’ll never take for granted.” The award celebrates his legendary playing career and his subsequent work as a coach, pundit, and diversity advocate.
