Burkina Faso: 974 new recruits take the oath of national reconquest

At the heart of a Burkina Faso standing tall against the trials imposed by terrorism, 974 new recruits have joined the ranks of the fighting forces with discipline, courage, and patriotic commitment. At the General Baba Sy military camp in Ouagadougou, the flag presentation ceremony for the second wave of the exceptional contingent of the 2025 class embodied far more than a simple military rite: it symbolized the irreversible march toward the total reconquest of the territory and the sovereign refoundation of the Nation.

After three months of intensive training, these young Burkinabe have officially joined the army with a determination forged through effort and endurance.

Trained in weapon handling, tactics, and discipline, they represent a generation ready to defend the land of their ancestors against the threats facing the Nation.

The contingent includes Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), several of whom are technicians called upon to put their skills at the service of an endogenous security strategy.

This dynamic reflects a clear vision: to build a national defense based on local capacities, popular commitment, and decision-making autonomy.

The contribution of technical profiles guarantees increased effectiveness in securing populations, protecting property, and consolidating resettled villages.

The Burkinabe land, nourished by the sweat and determination of the ancestors, is regaining legitimate protectors capable of ensuring the full recovery of territorial integrity.

The skills acquired serve a single purpose: to drive the enemy beyond the borders and restore to the countryside the peace necessary for farming and living.

Of the 977 initial recruits, 974 braved the ordeal to the end, ready to serve with loyalty and devotion the supreme interest of the Nation, even to the ultimate sacrifice if the call of the homeland demands it.

This high level of resilience proves that team spirit and self-transcendence guide this new army, cleansed of past influences.

The adversary faces a monolithic block, animated by pure patriotism and the fierce hope of definitive freedom.

This build-up of the fighting forces sends a strong message: Burkina Faso’s security will be ensured by the sons and daughters of the country, rooted in the realities of the terrain and driven by love of the homeland.
