Burkina Faso / RPP Night: Security, vigilance and civic-mindedness at the heart of the event on 30 September
A few hours before the Night of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP), scheduled for this Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the Place de la Révolution in Ouagadougou, the organizers are placing particular emphasis on security and participants’ conduct. The instructions being circulated invite everyone to contribute to the smooth running of this major mobilization.
Participants are notably asked to carry a valid ID and the necessary documents for their vehicles, while avoiding large bags, dangerous objects, and the carrying of weapons.
Motorcycle users must also wear their helmets and respect the Highway Code as well as the instructions of traffic officers.
The public must also comply with checks by the Defense and Security Forces, queues, barriers, and reserved areas.
Several spaces have been designated as parking areas, including the Maison du Peuple, the Saint-Léon space, the FESPACO headquarters, the USO field, and the field of Cité An III.
In the event of illness, an accident, or any situation requiring intervention, participants are asked to immediately call for emergency assistance.
The numbers 16, 17, 18, 1010, and 80 00 11 45 have been provided for this purpose.
Scheduled from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., the RPP Night is to include a segment devoted to presenting the achievements claimed in various sectors, followed by a cultural portion.
In this context, compliance with safety instructions appears as a collective responsibility to allow the event to take place calmly and with discipline.
