Burkina-Faso: Defamation of the armed forces back on the agenda /Human Rights Watch in the spotlight
The schemes to defame the forces engaged in the fight against terrorism in Burkina Faso and destabilize the current government continue. Imperialists and their organizations, presented as human rights NGOs, never run out of tricks to cast discredit on Burkina Faso’s efforts to eliminate terrorism from its territory.
Once again, the international NGO Human Rights Watch is enlisted to wield the wand of manipulation and advocate for sanctions against the transition, through a fallacious report published this Thursday, January 25, 2024.
«Three drone strikes by the Burkinabe army, presented by the government as targeting jihadist fighters, have caused the death of at least 60 civilians in two markets and during a funeral ceremony since August 2023», states the report, straight from the imagination of Human Rights Watch members, aiming to make the national and international public believe in the non-compliance with the principles of war in Burkina Faso.
This news surprises both the populations of the three localities mentioned in the report, where our correspondents have initiated investigations to shed light on the situation for the population.
While waiting to learn more, it is crucial that despite Burkina’s precarious security situation and its unwavering commitment to eradicate terrorist groups, the transitional authorities do not take human rights lightly.
Therefore, before deploying to the front lines, patriotic fighters (FDS and VDP) are trained in the rules of war, which include enemy recognition and respect for human rights.
In no case, in their patriotic duty to ensure the safety of their fellow citizens, can the military afford to commit such acts knowing the severe sanctions they face.
It is important for the Burkinabe people to understand once again that these organizations at the service of imperialists use every means to incite international sanctions against the transitional authorities.
To thwart this project, the people are urged to join Pan-African media in denouncing this outdated strategy known as one of the weapons used to destabilize African states, including Libya.
