Algerian Football Federation eyes Laurent Blanc as Potential National Team Coach

In their pursuit of a new head coach following Djamel Belmadi’s departure after Algeria’s early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has reportedly approached an unexpected candidate – Laurent Blanc.

After the disappointment in the AFCON group stage, Algeria is determined to bring about a significant change in the leadership of its national team.

Contrary to earlier reports suggesting that Portuguese coach José Peseiro and Swiss manager Vladimir Petkovic were the leading contenders, local media outlet El mouhtarif has revealed that the FAF has initiated contact with Laurent Blanc for the coaching position.

The report even suggests that an agreement has been tentatively reached between the parties involved.

The accuracy of this information is yet to be confirmed and remains a developing situation that will likely unfold in the coming hours.
