Portugal thrashes Sweden 5-2 in Euro 2024 Prep match without Ronaldo

Portugal dominated Sweden in a thrilling 5-2 victory at the Dom Afonso Henriques Stadium. Despite the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, Rafael Leao kick-started the scoring spree with a powerful strike in the 24th minute.

Matheus Luiz and Bruno Fernandes added two more goals before halftime, giving Portugal a commanding 3-0 lead.

The onslaught continued in the second half, with Bruma extending the lead to 4-0.

However, Sweden managed to pull one back through Viktor Gyökeres. Portugal swiftly responded with Gonçalo Ramos finding the net to make it 5-1.

Although Gustaf Nilsson scored a late consolation goal for Sweden, Portugal sealed the win.

This victory sets a positive tone for Portugal’s preparations for Euro 2024.

Their next match against Slovenia will mark Cristiano Ronaldo’s return, adding anticipation to the upcoming fixture.
