The Controversial bout between Cédric Doumbé and Baysangur Chamsoudinov, alias Baki, continues to stir debate

The clash between Cédric Doumbé and Baysangur Chamsoudinov, better known as Baki, on March 7th remains a hot topic among fight enthusiasts. The French fighter of Chechen origin was declared the winner by the referee, who deemed Doumbé incapable of continuing the match.

However, many fans of the Douala-born fighter believe that Baki was unfairly favored.

In a recent interview with Canal+, Baki addressed the controversy, adamantly refuting claims of preferential treatment.

«I emerged victorious in any case. I was leading on points. A fight is a battlefield. Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding between the referee and the athlete. Today, when one steps on a thorn or suffers a broken arm or leg, they have a choice: either continue fighting or choose to concede defeat», stated Baki.

The bout, which had been highly anticipated by fans, took an unexpected turn with the referee’s decision, sparking discussions across the combat sports community.

Despite the referee’s call, opinions remain divided on whether justice was served in the outcome of the match.

As the debate continues, both fighters are likely to face scrutiny and further questions regarding the integrity of the sport.
