Burkina Faso/Anti-crime campaign: Military authorities seek perfection in the face of current challenges

The Burkinabe authorities responsible for security appear determined to develop a more robust and continually evolving strategy to better address the challenges of crime, particularly terrorism.

This aligns with the vision of Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, the head of state, who aims to regain full control of the national territory by driving out terrorists and criminals who threaten the peace of the population.

To realize this vision, various initiatives are being implemented to modernize the crime-fighting apparatus and strengthen security across the entire country.

One such initiative is the capacity-building session for Judicial Police Officers (OPJ) of the National Police and National Gendarmerie.

This program is an initiative of the Ministry of Security, led by Divisional Commissioner Mahamadou SANA.

The ongoing pursuit of excellence in the fight against terrorism and other forms of crime drives the military authorities to involve all relevant actors.

Therefore, it is essential to regularly enhance the skills of officers, particularly in criminal intelligence analysis, to ensure more thorough and precise investigations.

While the security forces have achieved encouraging results, the military hierarchy emphasizes the need for continuous improvement to effectively address emerging forms of crime, particularly those related to terrorism.

The authorities hope to provide more sustainable solutions to the security challenges facing Burkina Faso.
