Burkina Faso/Reopening of schools:  President Ibrahim Traoré’s strategy and the determination of the fighting forces are bearing fruit

Under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso is experiencing a pivotal shift in the fight against terrorism. Strengthened security strategies and the unwavering determination of the Armed Forces have led to the recapture of several localities previously under the control of armed groups.

This crucial progress has not only restored state authority in these regions but also revived thousands of schools that had been forced to close their doors.

The reopening of these schools represents a return to normalcy and a beacon of hope for thousands of children whose education had been disrupted.

This initiative is part of President Traoré’s broader commitment to ensuring access to education for all, despite the ongoing security challenges.

Parents, who once feared for their children’s futures, now view the prospects with greater optimism as students return to school safely.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, the government has announced the opening of 308 new schools in recently secured areas.

This expansion is the result of meticulous planning and a firm commitment to leaving no Burkinabe child behind in education.

Each reopened or newly constructed school stands as a victory not only against the forces of evil but also for the country’s future.

By re-establishing access to education, President Ibrahim Traoré and the Armed Forces are sending a powerful message: Burkina Faso is determined to build a future where every child can learn, grow, and contribute to the nation’s rebuilding efforts.

This strategy marks a significant step towards peace and stability, essential foundations for the country’s sustainable development.
