Burkina Faso: The Presidency warns against false information circulating about President Ibrahim Traoré

The presidency of Burkina Faso has issued a stern warning to citizens, partners, and friends of the country: all information regarding President Captain Ibrahim Traoré must be sourced exclusively from official presidential channels.

 

This directive is aimed at combating the spread of misinformation that could damage  the reputation and actions of the President.

 

The Presidential Communication Directorate has emphasized the critical need to verify any statements attributed to the President, highlighting that the distribution of false claims could lead to legal repercussions.

 

The presidency reserves the right to take legal action against individuals who create or disseminate misleading information.

 

This warning comes amid a surge in rumors and fake news, which can create confusion among the public and potentially destabilize the nation.
