Côte d’Ivoire / Jean-Louis Billon: The champion of agribusiness and social welfare

Jean-Louis Billon, a prominent Ivorian businessman, has made a name for himself through his commitment to the population and his keen attention to the everyday concerns of Ivorians.

Renowned for his success and influence, he has become a key figure in Côte d’Ivoire’s economy, playing a pivotal role in job creation and the country’s socio-economic development.

As the head of SIFCA, Billon leads a corporate giant that has grown to become the largest employer in the region, with over 33,000 employees under his leadership.

However, his vision extends far beyond the expansion of his business empire; he is deeply dedicated to improving the lives of local communities by creating job opportunities and promoting skills development.

A dominant player in the agro-industrial sector, Billon oversees 39,000 hectares of industrial palm oil plantations while providing support to approximately 27,000 smallholder farmers across 133,000 hectares.

This support not only strengthens the local economy but also empowers rural producers, promoting their self-sufficiency and ensuring sustainable, high-quality production practices.

Driven by his dynamic leadership and dedication, Jean-Louis Billon is not just a powerful economic figure; he is also a community-focused leader, genuinely concerned with the well-being of Ivorians and the long-term prosperity of his country.
