Burkina faso maintains strong squad despite early qualification

Despite having already secured their spot in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations 2025, Burkina Faso’s head coach Brama Traoré has opted for a full-strength squad in their final qualifying matches, demonstrating the team’s commitment to maintaining momentum.

The Stallions will face defending AFCON champions Senegal on November 10th in Bamako, followed by a clash with Malawi on November 15th.

The 25-man roster features team pillars including goalkeeper Hervé Koffi, Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba, and experienced forward Bertrand Traoré.

The decision to field a strong lineup, even with qualification assured, suggests Traoré’s determination to use these matches as crucial preparation opportunities.

The fixture against Senegal, in particular, will serve as a significant test of the team’s capabilities against one of Africa’s football powerhouses.

“Each international match is an opportunity to strengthen our team chemistry and tactical understanding,” said a source close to the team.

“These games, especially against the African champions, will be valuable experiences for our squad.”

The matches will be held in Bamako rather than Burkina Faso due to ongoing regional considerations, adding an extra layer of challenge for the Stallions as they look to end their successful qualification campaign on a high note.
