Rising star Marmoush seals dream move to Manchester City

Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush has completed a €70 million transfer to Manchester City, marking a significant milestone in his rapidly ascending career. The 25-year-old, who has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga this season, has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Premier League champions.

Marmoush’s explosive form – 15 goals in 17 Bundesliga games – caught City’s attention, positioning him just one goal behind Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane.

His journey from Egypt’s Wadi Degla to European football’s elite represents a remarkable trajectory.

“This is a dream becoming reality,” Marmoush said, highlighting his excitement about joining one of world football’s most prestigious clubs. His versatility – capable of playing as a striker, winger, and number 10 – was a key factor in City’s decision.

City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain, praised Marmoush’s “outstanding pace and awareness”, underlining the player’s potential impact.

The transfer is part of a broader January recruitment strategy that also saw the club sign Brazilian defender Vitor Reis and Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov.

With his hunger to win and dynamic playing style, Marmoush appears primed to make his mark in Manchester.
