Chad: The content of the Kinshasa Agreement finally revealed

On November 3rd, the Chadian Minister of National Reconciliation, Abdramane Koulamallah, revealed the contents of the Agreement in Principle between the Chadian government and the political party “Les Transformateurs” in Kinshasa.

In this Agreement in Principle, the Chadian government commits to facilitating the return of Dr. Succès Masra and his team from exile, ensuring their legal security and guaranteeing the free exercise of their political activities in accordance with the current law.

The government also pledges to advocate for the suspension of the international arrest warrant issued against Dr. Succès Masra on June 8, 2023.

The Chadian government’s final commitment is to initiate a general amnesty law for all individuals, both civilian and military, involved in the events of October 20, 2022.

On the other hand, the political party “Les Transformateurs”, represented by its president, Dr. Succès Masra, commits to continuing the dialogue with the government to seek a comprehensive peaceful solution involving all actors who are not included in the current transition process.

The party’s president also pledges to work towards prioritizing actions that facilitate the return to constitutional order within the specified timeframe.

Lastly, the party “Les Transformateurs” commits to respecting the fundamental laws and freedoms guaranteed by Chad’s legal framework and working towards national unity.

According to the Minister of National Reconciliation, the return is scheduled for November 3, 2023.
