Burkina-Faso: Coris Bank supports the Etalons at the 2023 African Cup of Nations with FCFA 100 million

The Burkina Faso national team is taking part in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the 13th time. A national committee has been set up by the government to coordinate the Stallions’ participation in the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, which kicks off on 13 January and runs until 11 February 2024. The committee also gave details of the transport arrangements for the Stallions and their supporters.

The national committee is working in collaboration with the ministry in charge of sports and other private initiatives to improve organisation.

Nine committees have also been set up to help mobilise resources.

These include the technical secretariat, the finance commission, the material, transport and accommodation commission, the fan mobilisation commission, the health commission, the financial resources mobilisation commission, the press and communication commission, the Burkina showcase commission and the security commission.

With regard to the mobilisation of resources, Coris Bank International has offered CFAF 100 million to the Ministry of Sport to support the stallions in Côte d’Ivoire.

This gesture by the financial institution follows an appeal for goodwill launched by the ministry.

The first match of the Etalons will take place on 16 January 2023 at the “Stade de la Paix” in Bouaké. They will face Mauritania.
