Togo: Colonel Gnama Latta leaves the ANAC General Management

In Togo, Lieutenant Colonel Ahabou Abdou Idrissou has been appointed to replace Colonel Dokissime Gnama Latta as the head of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). The decision was made by the President of the Republic, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, in accordance with Article 2 of the new decree, which repeals the previous decree No. 2007-010/PR of February 2007.

President Faure Gnassingbé has appointed Lieutenant Colonel Ahabou Abdou Idrissou as the new Director-General of ANAC, succeeding Colonel Gnama Latta, who has been assigned to other duties.

«Considering decree No. 2022-033/PR of March 25, 2022, establishing the organization and functioning of the National Civil Aviation Agency of Togo (ANAC-Togo), the council of ministers decrees: Lieutenant Colonel IDRISSOU Ahabou Abdou, senior officer of the air force, is appointed Director-General of the National Civil Aviation Agency of Togo (ANAC-Togo). This decree repeals decree No. 2007-010/PR of February 28, 2007», reads the statement issued on Friday.

Initially appointed in 2007 by the Head of State, the former Minister of Security is now passing the baton to Lieutenant Colonel Ahabou Abdou Idrissou.

The National Civil Aviation Agency of Togo (ANAC) serves as the supervisory authority for civil aviation in Togo.

Its responsibilities include ensuring safety, security, and the harmonious development of civil aviation.

The agency also oversees the regulation of air traffic in Togo’s airspace.

Established on January 17, 1973, by decree No. 73/12, the Civil Aviation Directorate (DAC) was initially attached to the Ministry of Public Works, Mines, Transport, Posts, and Telecommunications.

The National Civil Aviation Agency of Togo (ANAC) was created on January 22, 2007, replacing the DAC following recommendations from international bodies, including ICAO, to establish autonomous civil aviation authorities.
