Burkina Faso: Fighting forces crush a horde of terrorists in Falagountou

In Falagountou on Monday, January 22, 2024, a violent assault by terrorist forces against a position held by the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) was successfully repelled. The VDP demonstrated courage and determination, forcing the attackers to retreat.

However, the threat has not been entirely eliminated. In a coordinated operation, aerial assets discreetly tracked the criminals to their wooded hideout in Haïni, located 13 km from the site of the attack.

There, a bomb was deployed, neutralizing several terrorists and preventing any attempt to regroup.

Last Saturday in Lonkosso (Loropéni), the VDP once again showed resilience by suppressing terrorists who had attacked them. Aerial assets were also deployed to bolster the response.

During the night from Saturday, January 20, to Sunday, January 21, 2024, a group of terrorists attacked a VDP base in Lonkosso.

Security forces responded swiftly, crushing the criminals and neutralizing survivors during subsequent operations.

However, the terrorists persisted in their threat. On the evening of January 21, 2024, reinforced and eager for revenge, they planned a new attack.

Fortunately, aerial assets closely monitored them, successfully striking the first group as they prepared for the assault.

The second group, believing they were safe in the woods, also suffered a heavy blow from a missile strike.

Only three survivors managed to escape the flames, but they were quickly subdued after eluding the initial chaos.
