Burkina Faso: The fight against terrorism intensifies under the presidency of Captain Ibrahim Traoré

Under the steadfast command of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso’s relentless fight against the menace of terrorism continues with unwavering determination. Recent incidents near Djibo stand as a testament to the ongoing dedication of the Burkinabe Armed Forces in reclaiming national territory and safeguarding the lives of their fellow citizens.

On the 18th of February, 2024, the elite commandos from the 14th Inter-Arms Regiment (RIA) in Djibo executed a substantial operation to the east of the city, targeting a terrorist group that had established a presence in the area.

Through a brilliantly executed ambush, the combat forces successfully neutralized several criminal elements, decisively putting an end to their imminent threat.

This courageous action not only secured the area but also led to the recovery of significant war materials, dealing a substantial blow to the operational capabilities of the terrorists in the region.

Despite the losses incurred, on Wednesday, the 21st of February, 2024, the terrorists attempted to regroup to assess the damage inflicted by the valiant troops.

However, their presence did not escape notice, thanks to the vigilant eyes of the RIA lookouts.

Swiftly responding to the alert, the combat forces mobilized their aerial assets, bringing the terrorists squarely into their line of sight.

Caught in a tight spot, the terrorists sought refuge in an abandoned hamlet, oblivious to the fact that they were already closely pursued.

In an act of unparalleled bravery, the combat forces coordinated a precise aerial strike, decimating the majority of the enemy troops.

While some managed to escape the destructive flames, their getaway was short-lived.

Thus, under the resolute leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the terrorists once again encountered the unyielding determination of the Armed Forces.

Their attempt to instill terror and chaos on Burkinabe soil was forcefully repelled, sending a clear message that those daring to challenge the security of the land of the Honest People will be relentlessly pursued until they are held accountable for their crimes before the bar of justice.
