Burkina Faso / Denial: Focus on unfounded rumours of unrest in Ouagadougou

An unfounded rumor is currently circulating, alleging that President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has fled to the Loumba military camp, located 20 kilometers from the capital, Ouagadougou.

This misinformation is clearly designed to sow doubt and confusion among the Burkinabe population and armed forces.

Our editorial team firmly states that these claims are entirely false and without any basis.

Contrary to what these disinformation tactics suggest, Burkinabe soldiers remain solidly united behind Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

The cohesion and determination of the armed forces are not shaken by such attempts at manipulation.

According to highly reliable sources, the recent attack on Massila aims solely to undermine the resolve of the Burkinabe people, who are celebrating the extension of the Transition.

This attack also seeks to create discord within the armed forces to facilitate a destabilization plan set for July, the originally planned end date for the Transition.

Moreover, this wave of manipulation is being orchestrated through the spread of misleading reports and false claims from certain NGOs, such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.

Media outlets like France 24, “Jeune Afrique”, “RFI”, and “Monde Afrique” are also implicated. Many observers see a sinister hand behind these Machiavellian strategies, with France seemingly determined to plunge Burkina Faso into chaos.

In response to these destabilization attempts, the Burkinabe people and their armed forces remain vigilant and determined to protect the nation’s integrity.

It is crucial to exercise caution and verify information before sharing it, to avoid falling into the trap of disinformation.
