DA suspends MP over racist video resurfacing

The Democratic Alliance (DA) has taken disciplinary action against one of its Members of Parliament (MP) .

This decision was taken following the resurfacing of an old video in which he made violent racist remarks against black people.

Renaldo Gouws initially dismissed the video as doctored and denied its authenticity.

However, the DA issued a statement on Thursday confirming that the video was indeed genuine and not falsified.

In the video, Mr. Gouws, who recently took office in parliament, used derogatory language directed at Black Africans, including the use of the n-word.

As part of the government of national unity, the DA has stated that Mr. Gouws will face disciplinary charges for his actions.
