De Ligt’s emotional farewell to Bayern Munich fans

Matthijs de Ligt, the 25-year-old Dutch defender, announced his departure from Bayern Munich on Tuesday through an emotional post on social media.

In his message, De Ligt expressed his gratitude to the Bayern fans for their unwavering support during his two years at the club.

“I’ve had two incredible years playing for this great club. Winning titles and experiencing unforgettable Champions League nights are memories that will stay with me forever,” he wrote.

De Ligt also acknowledged a recent petition signed by numerous fans urging him to stay, a gesture that deeply moved him.

Leaving this club is bittersweet,” he added, while wishing Bayern continued success in their pursuit of more trophies.

Manchester United secures De Ligt in €50 Million Deal

Shortly after De Ligt’s announcement, Manchester United officially confirmed his signing for a fee of €50 million, including bonuses.

The Dutch defender, who had been heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils, expressed his excitement about the new challenge.

“As soon as I heard Manchester United wanted me, I felt excited at the prospect of taking on a new challenge at such a historic club,” he said.

This transfer marks a significant moment in De Ligt’s career as he leaves Germany, having won multiple titles with Bayern Munich, to make his mark in the Premier League with Manchester United.
