Football/Balotelli in talks with Spanish third-division Club

After parting ways with Adana Demirspor, former Italian international Mario Balotelli is exploring new opportunities to revive his career. Despite several offers during the summer, including interest from Brazil’s Corinthians, no agreement was reached.

Balotelli’s agent had previously indicated the striker’s preference to stay in Italy, while acknowledging interest from clubs outside Europe. However, nothing concrete materialized.

Now, according to reports from Cadena Cope, a surprising suitor has emerged. Intercity Alicante, a club from Spain’s third division, is in advanced negotiations to sign the 34-year-old forward.

Discussions between Balotelli’s representatives and the Spanish club intensified on Monday, with a potential contract on the table that would keep him in Alicante for the remainder of the current season and an additional year.

If the deal goes through, the club will have to release a player from its squad to accommodate the move.

Balotelli’s future remains uncertain, but a move to Spain’s lower divisions could offer the Italian a fresh start.
