The meeting between the President of the Transition, Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, and the President of the National Transitional Council of Burkina Faso, Ousmane BOUGOUMA, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, reflects the spirit of solidarity and cooperation that drives the member countries of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

The visit of this Burkinabe delegation, present in Mali for the opening of the October session of the Malian National Transitional Council, demonstrates a shared commitment to strengthening political and institutional ties between the two nations.

During the meeting, Ousmane BOUGOUMA expressed his admiration for the management of the Malian transition under the leadership of Colonel GOÏTA, reaffirming the unwavering support of the Burkinabe people. This message of solidarity highlights the growing unity among Sahelian countries, particularly in the face of shared security and development challenges.

The fruitful discussions with various Malian officials further reinforced this cooperative dynamic. The Burkinabe delegation expressed their satisfaction with the warm reception and the quality of the discussions, underscoring the importance of interparliamentary relations in the success of political transitions.

Colonel GOÏTA, in turn, warmly thanked the Burkinabe parliamentarians for their commitment and continued support, emphasizing the importance of mutual cooperation for a successful transition, not only in Mali but also in Burkina Faso and throughout the Sahel region.
