Burkina Faso: The Presidency of Faso takes action against HIV, cancer and better nutrition in the workplace

On Thursday, Burkina Faso’s Presidency, through its Coordination Cell of the Committee for the Fight Against AIDS and STIs, held a dedicated health conference for its staff.

Organized as part of the annual medical check-up, the event aimed to raise awareness on critical health issues, including HIV/AIDS, cancer prevention, and the importance of nutrition in the workplace.

Central to the conference was the role of the Committee for the Fight Against AIDS and STIs in HIV prevention, as it reaffirmed its commitment to educating employees on risk factors, prevention methods, and available treatments.

Extending this awareness to viral hepatitis, the committee urged collective vigilance against these infections within professional settings.

Nutrition’s vital role in workplace well-being was also emphasized, with a focus on how healthy eating directly impacts productivity and overall health. Practical guidance was provided to encourage healthier food choices, stressing the benefits of balanced nutrition in preventing chronic illness and enhancing both physical and mental well-being.

Finally, the conference addressed cancer prevention and early diagnosis, highlighting the importance of regular screenings for effective treatment. This proactive approach aims to inform staff about risk factors and early warning signs, encouraging a culture of preventative health within the workplace.
