Brazil/ Raphinha steps up as Brazil’s New No. 10 Amid injuries

With a fresh season and newfound responsibilities, Raphinha’s star is rising for both Barcelona and Brazil. The Brazilian winger, who has been a standout for Barça since August, is set to assume the iconic No. 10 jersey for the national team — a number rich in history, worn by legends like Pelé, Zico, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaká, and more recently, Neymar.

This development, reported by TnT Sports Brazil, underscores Raphinha’s growing role as key players sit out.

The No. 10 swap follows the absence of Neymar, who remains sidelined due to injury, and Rodrygo, recently ruled out after a thigh strain with Real Madrid.

This series of setbacks leaves Brazil in need of a playmaker, and Raphinha, previously wearing No. 11, is now positioned to carry forward the legacy.

For Raphinha, the responsibility is significant, not only for the prestige of the number but for the role it implies in the squad. Last season, Vinicius Jr. briefly donned the No. 10 before shifting back to his preferred No. 7.

Now, as Brazil looks ahead to key international fixtures, the baton has passed to Raphinha, marking a new chapter for the Seleção’s iconic jersey and a crucial opportunity for the Barça star to shine.
