Burkina Faso and UN strengthen partnership for National development

The longstanding partnership between Burkina Faso and the United Nations has seen renewed momentum over the past two years under the leadership of President Captain Ibrahim Traoré. This revitalized collaboration is now firmly aligned with the real needs of the Burkinabe population and the government’s strategic roadmap for 2024.

 

With President Traoré prioritizing the well-being and prosperity of his compatriots, the partnership has been refocused to address critical areas such as food security, stabilization, and recovery.

 

The goal is to ensure that interventions directly tackle the most pressing challenges faced by the Burkinabe people.

 

During a recent meeting, Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean-Emmanuel Ouédraogo and UN Resident Coordinator Flore-Smereczniak reviewed the progress of ongoing initiatives.

 

While the results were deemed satisfactory, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for more impactful actions that deliver tangible benefits to the population.

 

Smereczniak acknowledged this priority, stating, “This is a key focus for us, and we will ensure it is fully integrated into our efforts.”

 

The partnership also aims to bolster wealth-generating sectors, in line with the government’s vision for sustainable development.

 

This approach reflects Burkina Faso’s broader strategy of forging strong bilateral and multilateral relationships with partners who respect the country’s sovereignty and commitment to progress.

 

As Burkina Faso continues to navigate complex challenges, this strengthened collaboration with the UN underscores a shared commitment to fostering resilience, prosperity, and dignity for the Burkinabe people.
