Burkina Faso: Fighting forces closer to citizens for their well-being

In Burkina Faso, the burkinabe army are working tirelessly to improve living conditions for communities across the country. In Toéni, a commune in the Sourou province of the Boucle du Mouhoun region, the Gendarmerie detachment and the Rapid Action Surveillance and Intervention Group (GARSI) recently carried out a mission to ensure continuous mobile network access and restore the local water fountain.

For several months, the commune of Toéni had been cut off from communication networks due to faulty batteries in the mobile antenna installations and the inability of technicians from mobile companies to access the area. This disruption had a significant impact on the population.

To address this, the new team of fighters, replacing the previous unit that had been stationed in the commune for an extended period, transported new batteries to the site. Gendarmerie technicians promptly installed the batteries, restoring mobile connectivity.

Additionally, the team repaired the commune’s public water fountain, which had been non-functional for a long time.

Beyond their relentless efforts to combat terrorist groups operating in the area, these operational units are demonstrating their commitment to enhancing the resilience and well-being of local populations through such initiatives.

These actions reflect the impact of President Ibrahim Traoré’s community-focused policies, which aim to foster social cohesion and improve the lives of all Burkinabe citizens.

This approach highlights the shared interest of every citizen in rebuilding the nation through unity and collective effort.

By addressing both security and basic needs, the government and its forces are laying the foundation for a stronger, more resilient Burkina Faso.
