Imperialist media, instrumentalized NGOs, and their local allies: A campaign of division in Burkina Faso

Certain media outlets aligned with imperialist and neocolonial interests, along with instrumentalized NGOs and their local collaborators, have positioned themselves as the self-proclaimed defenders of Fulani communities in Burkina Faso—claiming to care for their interests more than the communities themselves.

These actors have gone as far as fabricating atrocities against the Fulani, allegations that the communities themselves do not recognize.

Testimonies from those directly affected reveal the true intentions behind these misleading narratives.

While these enemies of peace in Burkina Faso and the Sahel loudly proclaim that the nation’s fighting forces (VDP and FDS) have suddenly become “bloodthirsty monsters” targeting the Fulani, the so-called victims are unaware of such claims.

In interviews with the AIB, Fulani individuals living peacefully and harmoniously with other communities in Solenzo have outright denied these false allegations, which only serve the interests of those spreading them.

The Fulani interviewees, proud citizens of Burkina Faso, question the motives behind these fabricated stories. It is well known that these peace disruptors and terrorist allies often employ preemptive or provocative strategies.

Some believe that imperialist media, backed by organizations like Human Rights Watch (HRW), may be laying the groundwork to facilitate attacks against the Fulani, only to later blame the fighting forces.

Alternatively, this could be an attempt to pit the Fulani against the VDP and FDS, creating chaos and division in the Land of the honest people.

Fortunately, both the fighters and the population have remained steadfast, refusing to fall for these manipulative tactics aimed at sowing discord. Each group continues to fulfill its role with determination and unity.

Maintaining social cohesion and peaceful coexistence is crucial for the liberation and survival of the nation. The enemies of peace are doing everything in their power to reverse this progress.

Vigilance, resilience, and determination are therefore essential for every Burkinabe who values peace, stability, and the development of their country. The people’s unity and resolve remain their greatest strength in the face of these divisive schemes.
