Mali: FAMa strikes hard in Diakoro-Wèrè

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) continue to demonstrate their determination and effectiveness in defending the national territory. On October 20, 2025, an offensive reconnaissance operation, conducted with precision in the village of Diakoro-Wèrè, west of Dougabougou in the Ségou region, resulted in a resounding success.

Under the command of General Oumar Diarra, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the Malian troops neutralized several terrorists who had been terrorizing the local population through racketeering and extortion.

This victory is the result of meticulous planning and exemplary coordination between the engaged units.

The operation is part of the national strategy to secure rural areas, as directed by the Transitional Authorities and firmly implemented by the High Military Command.

Each military success in these strategic zones strengthens the population’s confidence in their defense forces and showcases the growing professionalism of the FAMa.

The troops also seized a significant cache of materials, confirming the scale of the dismantled terrorist setup: weapons, ammunition, communication equipment, motorcycles, pharmaceutical products, military uniforms, computer equipment, and even around one hundred bags of rice intended to supply the armed groups.

These seizures demonstrate that the terrorists are losing crucial logistical means for their operations.

This victorious offensive adds to a series of actions carried out in recent weeks across several regions of the country, highlighting the constant rise in capability of the Malian army.

Under the enlightened leadership of the President of the Transition, General Assimi Goïta, the FAMa are now establishing a clear advantage on the ground—that of a sovereign, disciplined army determined to restore peace across the entire territory.
