Burkina Faso/Titao: The Burkinabe army’s devastating response to the forces of evil

In response to the heinous attack perpetrated on Saturday, February 14, 2026, against the town of Titao in northern Burkina Faso, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) mounted a counter-offensive of remarkable speed and effectiveness.

Far from buckling in the face of the enemy, the FDS once again demonstrated their bravery and composure, inflicting a heavy defeat on the armed terrorist groups and reaffirming their unwavering commitment to protecting the territory and its populations.

On that day, several hundred assailants attempted to sow terror by launching a coordinated attack on the town.

Their macabre plan targeted the military camp, telephone installations, and the property of peaceful citizens.

But they underestimated the determination of the Burkinabe soldiers. Thanks to a change in doctrine and a more offensive posture, the FDS immediately gained the upper hand over the enemy.

As the army spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Aziz Ouédraogo, so aptly stated, “Our forces demonstrated valor and professionalism, inflicting a heavy defeat on the terrorists and neutralizing several dozen of them.”

The swift response of the army did not stop on the battlefield. The pursuit continued relentlessly, with the support of aerial assets, to neutralize those attempting to flee.

The result is tangible: terrorists put out of action and, most importantly, a significant cache of weapons recovered.

Each seized weapon is a victory for the Nation, one less threat hanging over our heads.

These seizures are physical proof of the bravery and high sense of duty of our men on the ground.

In his statement, Lieutenant-Colonel Ouédraogo sought to reassure a population that is tested yet resilient: “The situation in Titao is calm and under control.” This declaration, far from being a mere formality, is the fruit of the sacrifice of the  army and total commitment.

It stands in stark contrast to the disarray of the assailants, who were routed and forced to leave the area.

This act of bravery occurs in a context where the FDS are multiplying large-scale offensive operations, hunting down the enemy to their very last strongholds.

The Nation, standing tall and united, pays heartfelt tribute to its fighting forces. Behind every successful operation, another step is taken towards the complete reconquest of the territory and the lasting restoration of peace.

The weapons displayed today are not just war trophies; they are the shining symbol of a professional, determined, and victorious army, worthy heir to the “Men of iron” who have always known how to defend the homeland. The gratitude of an entire Nation goes with them.
