Burkina Faso: From the Police Academy to the front line, 180 new officers guided by the ‘Diir-na-Nou’ spirit

In Burkina Faso, public security now stands as the central pillar of an endogenous vision of the national destiny. The solemn graduation ceremony of the tenth promotion of the Police Academy embodies this historic resurgence a powerful moment where public order aligns faithfully with the deep aspirations of freedom, dignity, and popular justice carried forward by the current revolution.

This Friday, July 17, 2026, 180 commissioners and officers swore allegiance to the fatherland under the attentive presidency of the Prime Minister, comrade Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo.

Named “Diir-na-Nou” a strong Lobiri expression meaning patriotism this new promotion bears the historic responsibility of materializing the definitive break with the old models inherited from past governance.

The highly symbolic gesture of the head of government, personally handing each graduate a copy of the Manifesto of the Popular Progressive Revolution, marks an essential doctrinal turning point.

From now on, the uniform is invested with a noble mission: to protect the revolutionary social pact and to serve exclusively the supreme interest of the national community.

This transformation dynamic also draws its strength from a deepened strategic cooperation with partner nations in the region.

The active participation of eighty Chadian trainees within the ranks demonstrates the progressive construction of a genuinely African collective security architecture.

In the face of the complex threats weighing on the sub-region, the response is being organized autonomously, confirming the growing influence of an academy that has become a continental center of excellence.

The Minister of Security, Mahamadou Sana, wisely reminded the absolute requirements of integrity, discipline, and loyalty. These cardinal virtues will guide every decision on the ground, strengthening the sacred bonds of trust between the police institution and the citizens.

On behalf of her peers, Commissioner Ramatou Konaté reaffirmed the absolute determination of the graduates to work tirelessly for the protection of populations, the defense of sovereignty, and the complete reconquest of the national territory.

This rising force stands as the essential rampart of a people on their feet, resolved to preserve their decision-making autonomy.

The enduring popular support remains the indispensable driving force behind this institutional rebuilding. The time calls for constant collective vigilance and unwavering unity around these new police cadres.

Committed to the service of the Nation, these officers and commissioners embody the hope of a Burkina Faso master of its own destiny, ready to defend its lands with honor and responsibility.
