President Ibrahim Traoré reaffirms the importance of the AES Alliance

During the flag-raising ceremony for the Burkina Faso and the Confederation of Sahel States (AES), President Captain Ibrahim Traoré delivered a powerful speech emphasizing the necessity of this regional alliance in today’s geopolitical landscape.

“Given the current international and regional context, our decision to embrace the AES has proven to be the right one,” he declared, highlighting the strategic importance of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger joining forces to strengthen their sovereignty and resilience against security and economic challenges.

This symbolic event underscored the firm commitment of the three nations to working together for peace, stability, and development.

The raising of the AES flag alongside Burkina Faso’s national flag reflected their united front against terrorism, foreign interference, and external pressures.

In his address, the Burkinabe leader stressed the need for Sahelian nations to rethink their cooperation strategies by prioritizing self-reliance and reducing dependence on unbalanced international partnerships.

He described the AES as a historic turning point, paving the way for enhanced security, economic growth, and the protection of shared interests.

Finally, President Traoré delivered a message of hope to the people of the Sahel, urging them to support this new era of regional integration, which promises a more prosperous and stable future for the region.
