Niger: General Abdourahmane Tiani invested President and awarded Grand Master of the National Orders

On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, Niger reached a historic milestone with the official investiture of Brigadier General Abdourahmane Tiani as the President of the Republic. During a solemn ceremony, he was also officially promoted to the rank of General of the Army and decorated as Grand Master of the National Orders of Niger, in recognition of his dedication to the nation.

This investiture marks the beginning of the implementation of the resolutions from the National Conference for Refoundation, an ambitious process aimed at redefining the political, economic, and social foundations of the country. The goal is to strengthen Niger’s sovereignty, consolidate national security, and promote inclusive development in line with the aspirations of the Nigerien people.

General Abdourahmane Tiani, who has led the transition since July 2023, affirmed his commitment to continue the reforms initiated to ensure the stability and autonomy of Niger in the face of security and economic challenges. His promotion to the highest military rank reflects the recognition of the crucial role played by the armed forces in protecting the country from both external and internal threats.
