Togo: Under the presidency of H.E. Faure Gnassingbé, the country is determined to become a technology hub in Africa

Togo is continuing its march towards the digitalization of its economy with the official launch on Thursday, March 27, 2025, of the Togo Trade Portal. This groundbreaking digital platform, designed by the Ministry of Trade with support from the International Trade Centre (ITC), aims to enhance the transparency and efficiency of commercial exchanges. This strategic tool aligns perfectly with President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé’s vision of making Togo a true regional technological hub.

The Togo Trade Portal centralizes all the essential information for import and export operations. It covers administrative procedures, licenses, permits, and certificates required for cross-border trade, with particular attention given to 12 priority products. This project aims to meet the expectations of business operators by simplifying procedures that are often seen as complex and time-consuming.

Under the enlightened leadership of President Faure Gnassingbé, the Togolese government has been committed for several years to digitizing public administration, particularly through major reforms aimed at improving the business environment. This portal is part of this ambition and is a significant asset for Togo’s ranking in the World Bank’s Business Ready program.

With the launch of this platform, Togo once again demonstrates its commitment to modernizing its digital infrastructure and enhancing the competitiveness of its private sector. This initiative perfectly embodies President Faure Gnassingbé’s vision: making Togo a leading commercial and logistical hub in West Africa.
