Burkina Faso: A renewed commitment to security under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré

March 28, 2025 remains a milestone in the history of national security in Burkina Faso. The official graduation ceremony of the 54th class of the National Police Academy (ENP) marks a strategic turning point in the fight against the insecurity that is destabilizing the country.

This class of 2,069 police officers, christened “DIMMEH SUUDU BAABA” (Hope for the Homeland), symbolizes not only the commitment of the security forces, but also the resolute determination of the government led by Captain Ibrahim Traoré to strengthen security and restore the integrity of the national territory.

One of the promises of this 54th promotion is to fill a crucial human resources gap in the police force, particularly in the field where clashes with armed terrorist groups remain a constant threat. This is a major challenge, requiring not only commitment, but also constant adaptation to the realities on the ground.

Massive support for the defense and security forces (FDS) is a major thrust of President Ibrahim Traoré’s governance policy. By training this new generation of police officers, the government continues to realize its ambition to strengthen the country’s operational capabilities in the face of multiple threats.

Under the impetus of the transition led by Ibrahim Traoré, the government is doing its utmost to ensure that these police officers are deployed in the most strategic units, where the fight against insecurity is most urgent. The actions undertaken to reconquer the national territory and secure republican institutions will find in this new promotion a dynamic and vigorous response.

These young police officers represent the future of Burkina Faso and the government’s determination to restore security and peace in every town and village. More than ever, the country is pinning its hopes on these young police officers, ready to serve the nation with pride and determination.
