Burkina Faso: Pô Speech, President Ibrahim Traoré reinforces the determination of the fighting forces
During his visit to the city of Pô, at Camp Thomas-Sankara, the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, delivered a powerful and inspiring message to the Fighting Forces of the Centre-South region. As Commander-in-Chief of the National Armed Forces, he used this occasion to emphasize the crucial importance of the fight against Western imperialism and neo-colonialism, particularly from France.
President Traoré stressed that Burkina Faso never willingly chose to engage in war. However, according to him, this conflict was imposed on them by foreign powers driven by the greed for their natural resources, especially minerals. It is, therefore, a battle for survival, honor, and national sovereignty.
“We cannot waver as long as the threat hangs over our land. We must fight with courage and dignity to leave our children a free and sovereign nation”, declared the Head of State before attentive and motivated troops. He insisted on the need for constant vigilance: as long as the enemy is not fully neutralized, there can be no lowering of guard.
The President also stated that the government has now provided the necessary resources to equip the Fighting Forces, enabling them to effectively confront the enemy. He called for general mobilization, discipline, and unity to stand together against the forces hostile to Burkina Faso’s development and independence.
In this message of resilience and hope, Ibrahim Traoré also praised the courage and dedication of his men, reminding them that today’s sacrifices are the foundation of tomorrow’s freedom. For him, this struggle is not only military—it is also moral, political, and symbolic. It represents a historic turning point for the Burkinabe people.
This speech, filled with determination and pride, reaffirms Burkina Faso’s commitment to defending its territorial integrity and sovereignty against all forms of interference. The Head of State delivered a clear message: the fight continues, and victory is within reach if the nation remains united and resolute.
