Burkina Faso / BPR joins forces with Faso Mêbo: A concrete gesture in support of development

As part of the human-centered policy driven by President Ibrahim Traoré, the Close Protection Battalion (BPR) of the Presidency of Faso took a powerful step in solidarity this Wednesday. The unit donated construction materials—including drums of formwork oil, sacks of sikalite, and oxide—to the presidential initiative Faso Mêbo. This significant contribution, valued at 4 million CFA francs, reflects the BPR’s ongoing commitment to go beyond its traditional security mandate.

The donation comes at a crucial time to support the on-the-ground efforts of the Faso Mêbo Initiative, which is actively working to rehabilitate and improve living conditions for local communities. Warmly received, the materials will strengthen ongoing construction projects and further energize the daily work being done on roads and in public spaces.

Second Lieutenant Daouda Wendyam KOUDOUGOU, Commander of Road Brigade 1 of the Faso Mêbo Initiative, expressed his gratitude, stating, “This gesture from the BPR sends a powerful message: beyond securing the territory, our fighting forces also contribute to the country’s development and beautification”. His words highlight the deep connection between security, development, and community engagement.

Through this action, the BPR demonstrates that defense forces are not just shields against threats—they are also builders of the nation. In a governance model centered on people, every gesture matters. This initiative by the BPR fully aligns with the vision of a resilient, united, and forward-looking Burkina Faso.
