Togo: The University of Lomé innovates with a University Diploma in Entrepreneurship

In an evolving African context where education is becoming a key driver of development, the University of Lomé is taking a major step forward. With the launch of a University Diploma (DU) in Entrepreneurship—led by the University Innovation and Technology Hub (UniPod Togo)—the country is affirming its commitment to building a sustainable and structured entrepreneurial ecosystem.

This new academic program, supported by a modern infrastructure funded to the tune of over one billion CFA francs, aims to professionalize project leaders, students, entrepreneurs, and working professionals. It provides them with a solid foundation in strategic management, business law, finance, and innovation—essential tools for building sustainable enterprises. The initiative is part of a broader vision to modernize the education system, positioning the university as a key driver of economic and social transformation.

This approach reflects the clear and proactive vision of Togolese authorities to make higher education a catalyst for opportunity—serving both the youth and national development. By investing in certified training in entrepreneurship, Togo aims to foster a culture of economic self-reliance, local job creation, and inclusive innovation.

At a time when Africa is redefining its priorities, this development reaffirms Togo’s position as a forward-looking nation. The University Diploma in Entrepreneurship from the University of Lomé is not merely a first—it is a symbol of an ambitious future, rooted in knowledge and backed by strong political will.
