DR Congo Football Team honours victims: Black armbands worn in AFCON 2023 Semi-Final

In a poignant gesture of solidarity, the DR Congo’s national football team, the Leopards, will wear black armbands during their CAN 2023 semi-final against Ivory Coast.

This symbolic move is a tribute to the victims of recent rebel attacks by the M23 group in East Congo.

The attacks, particularly in Shasa, have forced local populations to flee, leaving the Leopards deeply affected. In a special preparation for the semi-final, the team aims to express condolences and support for those affected by the atrocities.
