Burkina-Faso: Several terrorists tracked down and neutralised by BIR 19 and 20 in the east and centre-east of the country

Resolutely dedicated to reclaiming and defending their homeland, the Burkinabe armed forces are actively conducting security operations in recently liberated areas.

A coordinated effort by the 19th and 20th Rapid Intervention Battalions (BIR) successfully neutralized a significant number of criminals, numbering around sixty, in the Eastern region.

This two-day offensive resulted in a decisive victory against nefarious forces.

The seamless collaboration between intelligence services and aerial units once again proved effective in targeting criminals who believed they were safe within a base in the Boungou area.

Aerial units swiftly engaged these terrorists, ensuring their swift demise even before daylight.

The second group of fleeing criminals was pursued and swiftly dealt with, with the Kalari and Yilguemdé operations showcasing exceptional success.

In the central-eastern region, aerial units efficiently intercepted assailants who had targeted a GUMI position in Yourkoudguin.

These fleeing criminals were effectively neutralized in the Tiourel forest, with remaining survivors scattered into the Kabonga forest.

Operations extended into the Boucle du Mouhoun and Sahel region, where additional criminal elements met a similar fate, joining their accomplices in facing justice.

Simultaneously, a burgeoning base and its occupants were swiftly dismantled and rendered ineffective.

The aftermath of these operations revealed a significant haul, including captured logistics, war materiel, gas supplies, and various other critical assets.
