Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré calls on us to ‘work together to preserve our cultural heritage

Captain Ibrahim Traoré has chosen to dedicate the day of 15 May to traditionalists, demonstrating his commitment to drawing on ancestral values to ensure the sustainability and prosperity of Burkina Faso for future generations.

This initiative bears witness to its desire to strengthen the country’s cultural and traditional foundations, while promoting intergenerational dialogue and the transmission of traditional knowledge.

The first edition of this event was a resounding success throughout the country, bringing together diverse communities and strengthening the links between them.

It also highlighted the importance of traditions in building national identity and in the country’s socio-economic development.

On the occasion of this day, the President of the Burkinabe Revolution invited the Burkinabe people and friends of Burkina Faso to make it part of their daily routine to visit the sites of our shared heritage.

The aim is to promote a better understanding of the origins, history and rich culture of Burkina Faso.

By encouraging the discovery and promotion of these historical and cultural sites, the President hopes to strengthen the sense of belonging to the nation and promote the country’s cultural diversity among its citizens.
