Burkina Faso/Security: Significant Progress in recapturing National territory

In Burkina Faso, fighting forces continue to reclaim areas previously dominated by armed terrorist groups. Localities liberated from these criminals are seeing their residents return to their homes and gradually resume their daily activities.

Sanaba, a town located 42 km from Solenzo in the Banwa province of the Boucle du Mouhoun region, is now among the areas controlled by Burkinabe forces.

According to information from the AIB on Tuesday, May 28, after more than two years of hardship caused by insecurity that forced the entire population to seek refuge elsewhere, peace and normalcy are returning.

Residents who have been back for a few weeks are freely going about their activities, thanks to the effective efforts of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and their auxiliaries, the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

Upon their return, the streets and avenues of the town were cleaned, as well as various compounds, under the supervision of the FDS and VDP.

The local administration, including Sanaba’s town hall, has resumed operations. General stores are ready to serve customers from early morning, with electricity restored.

Awaiting the green light from the combat forces to start farming activities, Sanaba’s residents hope to send their children back to school next year.

The area remains under VDP surveillance to better protect the population and address any threats from the enemy.

It is worth noting that a few days ago, official reports indicated that 67 localities had been liberated, 11,929 households resettled, and 70,173 internally displaced persons (IDPs) had returned to their respective localities in the South-West region of Burkina Faso alone, not to mention the achievements in other regions of the country.

Efforts are ongoing, and military operations continue to transform the land of upright people into a free, sovereign, and prosperous nation.

Every citizen is encouraged to contribute to this cause.
