Football/ Revelations: Leo Messi chooses family over a massive Saudi Offer, before joining Inter Miami

Lionel Messi, who has been playing for Inter Miami since winter 2023, almost had a different career path. Before joining the Floridian team, Messi turned down a remarkable offer from Saudi Arabia.

Like Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, he had the chance to join the Saudi Pro League.

Anmar Al Haili, the president of Al-Hilal, revealed that the club had seriously pursued Messi.

They contacted him at the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and offered him €1.4 billion.

However, Messi declined the offer as his family preferred moving to America. Al Haili expressed his surprise that Messi chose family over such a substantial financial offer but respected his decision, acknowledging that family is more important than money.

This clearly shows that financial gain was not a decisive factor for Messi in making his choice.
