President Assimi Goïta bolsters Mali’s energy infrastructure with generous donation to EDM-SA

Bamako, Mali – President of the Transition, Colonel Assimi Goïta, continues to demonstrate his commitment to tackling Mali’s energy challenges head-on.

In a gesture marked by solidarity and dedication to the Malian people, President Goïta recently handed over a second batch of generators to the state-owned utility company, Énergie du Mali (EDM-SA).

This initiative aims to bolster the country’s energy infrastructure and ensure reliable, sustainable, and inclusive access to energy services for the Malian population.

The delivery of this second batch of 10 generators is part of a series of actions undertaken by President Goïta to address Mali’s energy deficits.

This timely gesture is intended to enhance EDM-SA’s production capacities and meet a portion of the country’s growing energy needs.

With a total production capacity of 10.25 MW, this new batch includes generators of various capacities: one 1650 KVa unit, one 1250 KVa unit, three 1100 KVa units, and five 850 KVa units.

The first batch, previously delivered by President Goïta, consisted of one 1650 KVa unit, five 1250 KVa units, five 1100 KVa units, and four 850 KVa units, totalling 16.8 MW.

Cumulatively, these initiatives bring the total capacity of generators donated to 27.25 MW.

These equipment additions will significantly enhance EDM-SA’s production capabilities, aiming to meet a substantial portion of Mali’s vast energy requirements.

Colonel Assimi Goïta’s actions in strengthening Mali’s energy infrastructure showcase determined leadership and a sincere commitment to meeting the needs of the Malian people.

The donation of these generators represents a clear step towards resolving energy deficits and underscores the Transition President’s dedication to promoting inclusive and sustainable development for Mali.
