AES: Burkina Faso and Niger affirm their unwavering support for Mali and their readiness to fight terrorism

In a powerful display of unity within the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), Burkina Faso and Niger have reaffirmed their unwavering support for Mali.

On Thursday, a high-level delegation from the AES was welcomed at Koulouba by Mali’s Head of State, Colonel Assimi Goïta.

This delegation, sent by Niger’s President General Abdourahamane Tiani and Burkina Faso’s Captain Ibrahim Traoré, underscores the shared commitment of the three nations to deepen their cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

The delegation, which included Niger’s Minister of State and Defense, General Salifou Mody, and Burkina Faso’s Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism, and Government Spokesperson, Rintalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, expressed their solidarity with the Malian people.

They offered their condolences to the Malian authorities following the recent terrorist attack on the Malian Armed Forces in Tinzawatène.

The envoys emphasized the unity of the AES member states in facing shared threats.

This visit highlights the determination of the AES member states to work together to ensure stability and security in the Sahel region.

By supporting each other in times of crisis, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Mali are strengthening the cohesion of their alliance and sending a strong message of resilience and cooperation.

The unwavering commitment of Burkina Faso and Niger to stand by Mali reflects a shared vision of a united future for the Sahel, where solidarity and collaboration are key to overcoming the region’s security challenges.
