Niger/Counter-terrorism: Despite the difficulties, Nigerien soldiers remain determined and more courageous

The barbaric actions of terrorist groups in the Sahel and Niger only serve to strengthen the courage, commitment, and determination of the Nigerien Armed Forces. Despite the challenges and obstacles, they face in their fight to liberate the national territory from the enemy’s grasp, these brave and valiant soldiers are making steady progress.

In recent days, according to official reports, Nigerien combat forces have vigorously confronted criminals in the most terrorism-affected regions, particularly Tillaberi and Mehanna.

While these criminals have inflicted significant harm on the civilian population, the fighters’ response has been proportionate to their crimes, resulting in considerable losses among the enemy ranks, inflicted by the valiant soldiers.

A notorious criminal was captured by Nigerien defense and security forces, who also neutralized several members of terrorist groups, destroyed their war and transport equipment, and recovered stolen livestock.

The continuous efforts of the FDS in these regions are paving the way for a decisive victory against the criminals and ensuring the safety of the civilian population.

Nigerien authorities, while wishing a speedy recovery to the injured and expressing their solidarity and support for the victims of these barbaric acts, have reaffirmed their determination to strengthen security and continue enhancing the operational capacity of the national army for a more effective and intense fight.

Unwavering support from the population for the fighters is also deemed necessary.
