Football/Transfer 2024-2025 News: Key player movements and rumors

In recent transfer developments, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has expressed a preference for a move to Chelsea over a potential transfer to a Saudi Arabian club. Osimhen, 25, is keen to join the Premier League side if the opportunity arises.

Meanwhile, England winger Raheem Sterling, 29, is considering a move to Manchester United.

However, Sterling plans to finalize his decision after further discussions regarding his contract with Chelsea.

Crystal Palace is reportedly on the verge of completing a £25 million deal for Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah. The agreement includes an additional £5 million in performance-related add-ons. Nketiah, 25, is expected to bolster Palace’s attacking options.

Scottish champions Celtic are showing interest in re-signing French striker Odsonne Edouard, 26, from Crystal Palace. This move would see Edouard return to the club where he previously enjoyed success.

Newcastle United are nearing a £70 million deal for Crystal Palace’s England defender Marc Guehi, 24. The transfer would significantly bolster Newcastle’s defensive lineup.

Atletico Madrid is exploring the possibility of a loan move for Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes, although no official offer has been made yet.

Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, 23, has undergone a medical in Spain as he prepares for a £30 million transfer to Liverpool, set to be completed in the summer of 2025. He will remain with Valencia until then.

Nottingham Forest is planning to target England midfielder James Ward-Prowse, 29, who is reportedly not in the plans of West Ham’s new manager Julen Lopetegui. West Ham is open to offers but is not actively seeking to sell Ward-Prowse.

In a setback for Nottingham Forest, their £29 million pursuit of Feyenoord’s Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez, 23, has fallen through after Gimenez declined their offer.
