Mali: President Assimi GOÏTA returns from 9th FOCAC
Colonel Assimi Goïta, President of the Transition and Head of State of Mali, returned to Bamako on the evening of friday , September 6, 2024, following his participation in the 9th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held in China.
Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Dr. Choguel Kokalla Maïga, Colonel Malick Diaw, President of the National Transition Council, and the entire government.
During the FOCAC 2024, Colonel Goïta led a high-level delegation to engage in strategic discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Mali and China.
The forum provided a platform to advance economic, political, and diplomatic cooperation between Africa and China.
Key topics of discussion included concrete partnership projects in infrastructure, natural resources, and technology—areas that align with Mali’s development priorities.
The participation to the FOCAC 2024 highlighted Mali’s efforts to build robust international partnerships that support its vision of sovereignty, stability, and growth.
The President’s return signifies a pivotal moment for Mali as it continues to seek international collaborations that bolster its strategic objectives and development goals.
